Iqaluit Exchange Program
Under the auspices of the YMCA Youth Exchange Program, 15 young members of OrKidstra travelled to Iqaluit from March 11 to 16 for the first part of a musical and cultural exchange with children from the Iqaluit Fiddle Club. The return visit to Ottawa took place April 23-28. Read more. |

Angela Hewitt Visits OrKidstra
Angela Hewitt took time out of her busy performing schedule to visit the OrKidstra classes on Valentine's Day. Ms. Hewitt gave generously of her time, playing a 3/4 size violin with the beginners, clapping and snapping along while the kids chanted their music principles and conducting the OrKidstra players through a sprightly march. She was rewarded with a special Valentine's Day card signed by members of OrKidstra. Thank you so much, Ms. Hewitt, for sharing your passion for music with us. Happy Valentine's Day! Read more. |

Canadian Institute of Child Health Leadership Award
On November 19, 2012, The CICH presented their 2012 Annual Leadership Award to Tina Fedeski, recognizing her as the "driving force behind Ottawa's Leading Note Foundation and its outstanding OrKidstra program." Read more. |

Peace Day Event - September 2012
On Saturday, September 29, 2012, the world premiere of "To Young Canadians" was presented at the Peace Day event by OrKidstra, the KidSingers, the Cantiamo Girls Choir and the chamber choir of the Ottawa Regional Youth Choir. There wasn't a dry eye in the house! Listen to the performance |
